PARADIGM SHIFT!

PARADIGM SHIFT!

“Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”

I believed this for many years; I TAUGHT this for many years. It took me through a wonderful journey of learning, experiencing, relating, helping, and most importantly- clarifying. Clarifying what? God’s purpose in my life.

You see, before I started this journey to create myself, God revealed to me what He created me for- and I chose to ignore it, for over 20 years.

And now, here I am, realizing that I am completely incapable of “creating myself”, because God created me in His purpose, and set me apart for His work. 20 years later, I am right where I was, listening to His voice and pursuing His purpose, and finally finding the peace, happiness and fulfillment that satisfies my soul.

“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5

If God set apart and appointed Jeremiah before he was even formed in his mother’s womb, that shows us that He knew and purposed every single one of us as well! How incredible!

We don’t need to “find” or “create” ourselves, we need to listen to the direction and prompting of our King; in that submission is the fulfillment of every Biblical and divine promise.

“His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness. Through these He has given us His very great promises, so that you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.” 2 Peter 1:3-4

I love that last part of verse 4, “and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.” Satan is the ruler, or “prince” of the world (John 12:31), and scripture tells us he is the “father of lies” (John 8:44). And what does the “world” tell us? To find ourselves, to create ourselves; to sacrifice wholeness, wellness, sleep, family time, love, peace, self worth for “success”, for “work”, and to “build our dreams”. The world craves money and fame, idolizes materialism and superficial success. Look at all the corruption in our governments, neighborhoods, businesses and (gulp) even churches- the world’s (Satan’s) evil desires are at the root of them all.

We can “participate in the Divine nature and escape the corruption” by pursuing God’s calling and purpose, and by submitting to His goodness and glory- what a blessing!

“The world and it’s evil desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God love’s forever.” 1 John 2:17

Amen and amen!

It’s time to let go of the idea of creating ourselves; our purpose was written on our heart of hearts before we were in the womb! When we allow Jesus into our heart, and allow Him to fulfill the Father’s purpose through our lives; tremendous joy, blessings and peace will flow.

Isn’t today a perfect day to let go?

Yes, yes it is.

Jesus, thank you for Your provision, Your love and Your purpose that flows through my life. Thank you that Your promises are fulfilled daily in my heart, my life and family!
